Brief curriculum vitae

Henk Louw was admitted as an advocate in 1990 and joined the Department of Justice in the same year, initially commencing practice as a district prosecutor, then a regional court prosecutor specializing in commercial crime related matters. Louw was thereafter appointed as a state advocate with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, specializing in large scale national and international commercial crime matters.

Louw was called to the Bar in 1996 and his areas of practice are mostly of a commercial nature including amongst others: general commercial litigation and commercial arbitrations, both representing parties or acting as a party appointed arbitrator or association appointed arbitrator; contractual and delictual disputes; company law and insurance law related matters and commercial crime. Louw was appointed in the Kingdom of Lesotho as a specialist commercial crime prosecutor by the Director of Public Prosecutions and became a member of the Law Society of Lesotho.

Louw is a Member of the General and Commercial Panel – Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA), a Fellow – Association of Arbitrators Arbitrator (Southern Africa)(NPC) and an Member – Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

Louw has been actively involved in the affair of his Group, serving on the Transformation Committee, the Legal Practise Act Liaising Committee, the Strategic Committee and he was a member of the Professional and Fees Committee of the Johannesburg Bar Council.
