He was admitted as an attorney in 1998 and practiced as such in Johannesburg until he was called to the Bar in 2003.  His areas of practice include amongst others: General commercial litigation and arbitrations; labour disputes; contractual disputes; unlawful competition and restraint of trade interdicts and litigation; company law; insurance law; personal injury and medical malpractice.  From time to time he has been appointed as an acting judge of the Labour Court of South Africa. He also sits as a mediator or an arbitrator in commercial and labour disputes.

He has been actively involved for many years in pupilage matters at the Johannesburg Bar. He further assists with advocacy training of pupils and junior advocates.  He established a student vacation programme for students from the University of Zululand at Advocates Group 21 and has successfully run this for several years.  He is also an active member of the Transformation Committee at Advocates Group 21 and has been involved in several transformation initiatives.
