Brief curriculum vitae:
Articles of Clerkship were commenced in Durban with Tate &; Nolan Inc and finished with Dyason Inc in Pretoria. Pupilage was conducted under the watchful eye of Michael Collins (now SC) at the Durban Bar before returning to Gauteng to represent Richard Molimi, the first person to be acquitted in toto and released by the Constitutional Court on appeal to it. After brief stints in the employ of the Legal Aid Board and membership of the National Forum of Advocates, a return to the Bar was facilitated by the late Karen Foulkes-Jones SC. In 2015 a first stint as an Acting Judge was completed at the Palm Ridge seat of the criminal courts of the Gauteng Division. After doing acting duties in the criminal courts for 2 years, an invitation to the civil bench was extended. Since then acting appointments have followed almost each year with more than 10 acting stints having been completed, giving rise to a number of reported judgments.
During 2021 it was decided that a further challenge was needed, and the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa) NPC arbitration course was
undertaken and successfully completed.
Appearances have been undertaken in the Supreme Court of Appeal,
Constitutional Court, almost every High Court Division in South Africa, as well as the High Court and Court of Appeal in Botswana.
