Brief curriculum vitae:

Danie Dörfling obtained his B.Com LLB LLM degrees and an advanced diploma in Constitutional Law at the University of Johannesburg (formerly Rand Afrikaans University). He joined the Department of Justice where he held the position of State Advocate and Senior State Advocate. He was invited to become a lecturer at RAU where he lectured in Criminal Law, advanced Criminal Law, and Law of Persons and the Family.
He also presented a number of guest lectures and acted as a promotor for postgraduate students in Criminal Law and Procedure. He completed his pupillage whilst lecturing at RAU and joined the Bar in November 1993. He has been involved in the pupillage training program at the Bar for a number of years lecturing in Criminal Law and Procedure. He has also acted as an examiner during oral examinations. Danie practices in Criminal Law, Labour Law, Constitutional Law and Commercial Law with the focal point of his practice being in the field of commercial criminal law. Danie took silk in 2010.
