Brief curriculum vitae:
Kirsty obtained her LLB from the University of Johannesburg and commenced her articles of clerkship at a law firm in Johannesburg, specialising in Civil and Commercial Litigation.
She was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in 2010 and conferred her Right of Appearance in the High Court in the same year.
During her time in practice as an Attorney, Kirsty gained experience in various practice areas, including Civil Litigation; Commercial Litigation; Commercial Law; Deceased Estates; Family and Matrimonial Law; Insurance Litigation; Labour Law; and Third Party Claims. In addition, Kirsty has completed a number of post graduate certificates as well as a BA in Communication Science and an Honours in Media theory.
Prior to commencing Pupillage at the Johannesburg Society of Advocates, Kirsty served as the Litigation Manager for the Johannesburg branch of the Road Accident Fund.
Kirsty was converted from an Attorney to an Advocate in 2021, in accordance with the Legal Practice Act and has a general litigation practice. Her areas of practice and interest include commercial litigation; contract law; general civil litigation; family and matrimonial law; general motion court practice; and third party claims / personal injury law.
