Brief curriculum vitae:
Shawn became a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates upon completion of his pupillage during 2005. Shawn practiced predominantly in labour and commercial law when an opportunity for him arose in 2008 to join the corporate world and established the legal department at the newly formed Sandbox Holdings (Pty) Ltd as Group Legal Advisor.
During January 2013 Shawn joined the legal department at Cartrack (Pty) Ltd and in October 2013 joined ADT Security (Pty) Ltd as legal counsel reporting directly to the holding company Tyco International PLC headquartered in Cork, Republic of Ireland. Shawn was responsible for managing the merger and acquisitions for ADT locally, compliance, contract drafting and negotiation and managing the litigation portfolio with external attorney firms and external counsel.
During 2016 Shawn formally started full-time practice again as a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates drawing on his corporate law experience gained while spending almost a decade as in house counsel.
