Brief curriculum vitae:
After obtaining his LLB degree from the University of the Free State in 2016, Wesley did his articles at a law firm in Durban in 2017 for 6 months then decided to pursue his LLM Masters in Business Law (full time) which he successfully completed in 2018. Whilst pursuing his LLM, Wesley was employed at the University of KwaZulu-Natal as a Graduate Teaching Assistant where he conducted tutorials to 4th, 3rd and 1st year LLB students in Introduction to law, the law of delict and civil procedure. During this period in 2018 Wesley was also employed as a lecturer at Varsity College, Westville campus lecturing Principles of Employment Law.
Subsequent to completing his LLM, Wesley did his articles at a law firm in Durban, Umhlanga (January 2019 to December 2020) where he successfully passed all 4 board exams and completed his articles. During his articles Wesley was in the litigation department where he gained vast experience working with various counsel in Administrative Law, Labour law, Banking Law, Commercial litigation matters, Environmental Law matters, Debt Review matters, Arbitration disputes. He also appeared in various Magistrates’ courts (regional and district) in and around Durban in unopposed and opposed motion court matters.
Wesley became a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates in December 2021. His areas of practice and interests include general commercial and civil litigation, contract law, personal injury claims, tax law, criminal law, competition law, administrative law, constitutional law, banking law and insurance law.
Wesley currently holds and LLB (law) degree and LLM (masters in business law) degree. He is also currently a PhD student researching on the Law of Contract at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
